Turkey Bowl 2 - Game Summary

Pritchard Field - Swarthmoore, PA...the location for what the New York Post would call "The Game To End All Games." The second installment of the Turkey Bowl would prove to be just as entertaining as the first. TB2 signified the first appearance of the crowd scene. For the first time, groups of rowdy fans showed up at the field to get fucked up and watch football. Aside from the sidelines, there was some action that took place on the field. On paper the game looked like a blowout for Team Cobra Kai/Nuggets Lax/Widener University, but then again thats why they play the games. Beer showed up to play on this day, especially impressive were the performances of Mike Trill and Rich DiNofia.

Trill was on fire, as he lead the Beer aerial attack. And DiNofia was equally as stellar on both sides of the ball, collecting several key receptions as a receiver and making 2 key interceptions as a defensive back. DiNofia's second interception was a spectacular leaping catch that set Beer up with great field position. It is recognized as one of the top 5 plays of all time.

Team Cobra Kai/Nuggets Lax/Widener University failed to get anything started as they trailed 5-0 at halftime. Their offensive troubles continued in the second half as they could not find a reliable quarterback. Despite solid games from Mark Marcelli and Chris Crooks, the team failed to ralley and they were defeated 10-5.
