Scanning The Waiver Wire

Recently, both Team Zissou and the Doc F*ckers made key, post-draft, free agent acquisitions. After much deliberation and negotiation the teams announced the signing of 2 off season recruits.

Middleton

Doc F*ckers was able to land WR/QB Paul Middleton. Middleton is a 3 year TFL veteran coming off of an impressive game in 2005. He will add a solid target to the receiving corps and could also dable at quarterback should the opportunity arise.

Rayer
Five year veteran Kevin Rayer was recently added to Team Zissou's roster. Rayer is coming off a 1 year suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy and has not participated in a Turkey Bowl since 2003. He will serve as a DB/WR for Team Zissou and he could create personnel problems for Doc F*ckers already depleted secondary.

Overall both GMs seemed pleased with their signings. "Rayer is a solid player and can definitely contribute...if he learns to lay off the sauce and actually makes it to the field" said Team Zissou captain/GM Keith Cottom. Cottom's assessment seems pretty accurate; if Rayer actually does find his way to the game things could get pretty interesting. The additions of Rayer and Middleton to their respective rosters is just another key match up to watch on game day. Do these acquisitions swing the favor into one team's corner? The jury is still out on that one; as Vegas has the game listed as a Pick 'Em.
